Frances Reaves’ first book is now available!
“Boomers Booming: How to Thrive After Sixty Five” offers Boomers and succeeding generations a fresh, positive perspective on living life after sixty. The genesis of this book, company, and movement, comes from my three-year journey with my parents at the end of their life. During that time, I had a ringside seat to the treatment of “seniors.” There is no 501(c)(3) that deals with the issues of growing old, there is no 800 number to call when you have questions about options if your circumstances change. More alarming is how the “senior industry” takes advantage of our older population’s ignorance. That is what motivated me to write the book. During the process, I realized that our culture paints seniors/elders as second-class citizens instead of what they are: wise, experienced people brimming with knowledge who are a source of prodigious guidance and counsel. I like most of the Boomer generation am in that world. I also watched Mom and Dad enter it and realized that had they not had a lawyer for a daughter there was a good chance they would have died penniless. I also have a husband who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
This book is for Boomers and GenXers. There is no discussion on “how to die,” the focus is on how to live. It is not medically focused, it’s not about dementia and/or family caregiving nor is it about how ‘tough’ it is to grow old’. It’s about being free to live your life your way. Today’s Boomer thinks 65 is the new 40 and this book validates how much fun it can be when the last kid leaves and the pets are gone. It educates, motivates and presents fabulous opportunities!
Praise for “Boomers Booming”
Frances Reaves gives shape and form to a time of life often made invisible in contemporary culture, and she does so with wit and charm. Boomers Booming is packed with moving accounts of lives lived fully and motivation on how to do this for oneself. A great read for all ages!

This is one of the most positive, informative, and stimulating books to hit the market for Boomers and Gen-Xers. Frances Reaves validates what these generational groups have to offer society—wisdom, creativity, and resiliency—and makes all generational groups, including Octogenarians like me, want to grab hold of opportunities before us to embrace life “our way fully.” No fake stuff in this book!
With grace, humor, and relevance, Frances Reaves draws on research and personal experiences to tell it like it is. She offers insight and includes real-life examples of how it can be for the “old guard” — through to the 2-minute warning of life! Plus, she directly confronts sex in old age with specific ideas and titillating humor, making it a helpful and enjoyable read from start to finish!

Excerpts from “Boomers Booming: How to Thrive after Sixty Five“
At 73, Hips swinging in her bodycon Armani dress, she walks across the tile floor, heels clicking. Ahhh, it’s good to be tall! She meets people’s eyes, smiles, demurely looks down then repeats. Mmmm, so delicious having the eyes of all follow you across the restaurant. She sits down, views the room and picks up the menu. Mimosa, maybe?
At 73, With her black, elastic-waisted pants and the “I love Grandma” tee-shirt on, she walk/runs across the tile floor to the restaurant trying to keep up with her grandkids. Thank goodness she has on sensible shoes! Everyone looks up to see what all the noise is about. Of course, the minute the kids sit, silence prevails as they begin to text or play video games. But first, the menu and the battle of ordering for tweens and teens. She wouldn’t have it any other way.
Yep, that’s the dream! Would you prefer to have that bodycon Armani or the sensible shoes? The choice is yours and both are worthy. What’s important is that you dismiss the words “over the hill” and “senior” from your vocabulary. Yes, we’re older but, like the common the adage, aged wine, is fine wine.
