About Us
We are not doctors or lawyers. We are not psychologist or counselors, and we do not claim to have all the answers. We are three women who have been friends since high school. We have been together through the good times and the bad...boyfriends, college, marriages, children, divorces and much, much more. We have all chosen different career paths and made our own life choices. And, like many others across the country, as we entered our 40's we found ourselves facing yet another one of life's realities: our aging parents' health issues. With some of our parents residing nearby, and others out of state, navigating through everything from insurance to the legal system; from social security to home health care; from medical power's of attorney to hospice, and more, we have come to realize this journey has only just begun with our parents.
While there is more and more information available to help guide adult children of aging parents through this life stage, we were unable to find one comprehensive resource. It was very frustrating, especially dealing with issues and concerns in a different state. Believing we weren't the only people encountering this same frustration, we decided to do something about it. We decided to develop and launch a comprehensive, interactive website to help people caring for their aging parents no matter what their financial situation, health condition or needs. A site to help people who find themselves taking on a parental role with their aging parents, in essence parenting their parents.

About ParentYourParents.com
As we researched and developed ParentYourParents.com, we talked with our friends and family about the concept and elements. We came to realize this is a new role and responsibility, one that our parent’s didn’t have. As folks are living longer and are not necessarily planning for it, they need advice, guidance and support from their adult children. We designed ParentYourParents.com to help people help their aging parents plan for their elder life stage. ParentYourParents.com is designed so users can search for local services, physicians and facilities.
ParentYourParents.com also provides other resources such as links to local, national and federal websites; glossary of commonly used terms; checklists; brochures; senior calendar of events; pertinent articles that are updated on a regular basis; and printable documents covering many subjects.
As you go through this process, we hope you and your spouse are encouraged to draw up your wills, trust, powers of attorney, medical power of attorney and advance directives. And, if appropriate, have some preliminary discussions with your children about the location and content of those documents.
Finally, we hope ParentYourParents.com is a useful resource you visit again and again.
